The Brisbane Lions will be looking to continue their momentum in the Smithy’s VFL when they face Southport in their Qualifying Final on Saturday.
Coming off a thrilling 14-point win over an undefeated Casey Demons side, the Lions will need to put their best foot forward when they face a mature Southport on Saturday.
With a week break and a home Preliminary Final on the line, the Lions will be bolstered by the return of versatile utility Cal Ah Chee and dynamic forward Blake Coleman.
Ah Chee and Coleman have both exited concussion protocol after taking big hits in Round 21 against Carlton (AFL) and Round 21 against Sandringham (VFL), respectively.
Ely Smith will return from injury this weekend, with Bruce Reville, Riley Green and Jackson Hille have also named in the 22-man side.
These two sides last met was in Round 10 where the Sharks overpowered the Lions to hand Brisbane a 36-point loss.
While their last clash in a Finals Series was back in the 2019 NEAFL Grand Final where the Lions walked away with the silverware.
If their past match ups are anything to go by, fans can expect a heated and contested affair on Saturday.
The Brisbane Lions will play Southport in the 2022 Smithy’s VFL Qualifying Final at the Moreton Bay Sports Complex at 1:35PM on Saturday.
