An unchanged Brisbane Lions AFLW side will face the Gold Coast Suns at the Gabba on Saturday afternoon.
Brisbane Lions AFLW Head Coach Craig Starcevich will back in the same line up for the QClash that recorded a 47-point win over GWS in Canberra last Sunday.
Dee Heslop, who made her Brisbane Lions’ debut in last weekend’s demolition of the Giants, will retain her spot in the side with the former Gold Coast defender set to play her 25th AFLW game against her former side on Saturday.
This weekend’s Queensland derby coincides with AFLW Indigenous Round, celebrating and highlighting the contribution of First Nations people to the game of Australian rules football, and to the broader community.
In celebration of the round, the Lions will wear their 2022 AFLW Season 7 Indigenous guernsey, designed by proud Badimaya and Whadjuk woman, Courtney Hodder.
Hodder’s design tells the story of the Club coming together as one at their new home at Brighton Homes Arena and the new beginnings and opportunities that represents.
The auction for all match-worn and player issued AFLW Indigenous guernseys will be live from the first bounce in Round 3 (4:40PM Saturday September 10) at lions.aflauctions.com.au, with bidding set to close at 7pm on Wednesday September 14.
A limited supply of replica guernseys are now available for pre-order sale at shop.lions.com.au.
Our 2022 Indigenous Guernsey was photographed by proud Meriam/Yiginiji man Lewis Bin Doraho on Yuggera and Toorabul Land.
The Brisbane Lions will play the Gold Coast Suns at the Gabba at 4:40PM on Saturday September 10.
