Their 32-point loss to Collingwood on the weekend cost them a top-four spot however, the loss could be the ignition to a big match for the GWS Giants at the Gabba this Sunday.
The result was a blow for the GIANTS, who fall to 10-5 after suffering their biggest loss of the year however, the team have set out to refocus this week ahead of Round 17.
Star forward Jeremy Cameron had a reasonably good game with five goals however was overshadowed by Travis Cloke's 12 marks and four goals.
“We more just focus on the game coming up, and I think it’s losses like that, that really help you in the long run,” he said.
“We did a lot of things (last week) that really wasn’t us and that we need to improve on.
While they led at the first break, all went downhill for the Giants with Coach Leon Cameron labelling his team's effort therein as the “worst 60 minutes of the year."
Last time we played the Giants, in NAB Challenge, Lions ruckman Stefan Martin humbled Giant Shane Mumford with 24 disposals and 32 hit-outs and is looking to regain that form this weekend.
Looking at the stats and the Giants are ranked second in offence, averaging 108 points a game while also ranked equal second for quarters won in 2016 with 42.
In Dylan Shiel (15th), Callan Ward (18th), Ryan Griffen (39th) and Heath Shaw (49th), the Giants have four players in the top 50 of the Schick AFL Player Ratings.
