Courageous Captain Leah Kaslar is expected to return for the Lions in their top of the Conference B table clash against Geelong this Saturday afternoon. Kaslar was a late exclusion from the team in their Round 4 triumphant win over the Western Bulldogs and is the only change this week.
Natalie Grider, who made her debut as Kaslar’s replacement last weekend, will move back as an emergency.
Jessy Keeffe and Jacqui Yorston, who enjoyed dream debuts against the Dogs last weekend have retained their spot.
Megan Hunt, who kicked her first AFLW goal in her first game of 2019 will also return this weekend.
Emma Pittman has been named as another emergency.
The Lions have never met the Cats before, but Starcevich said they will be a tough opponent with many established players within their ranks.
“There are people in their group who we have met before, players like Mel Hickey who are very experience.
“We’re also familiar with the under 18 Victorian Country players who they drafted last year, who have been very good players for them this year.”
Saturday’s game is the last regular home game for the season for the Lions AFLW team in 2019. Entry is free with bounce at 3:45pm.
