The Brisbane Lions have rewarded Deven Robertson for his strong form in the VFL, with senior coach Chris Fagan selecting the 21-year-old for Saturday’s Round 13 clash with Hawthorn at the MCG.
The talented midfielder comes into the team fresh from a standout performance against Frankston where he recorded 20 tackles to highlight his defensive pressure.
Fellow young gun Jaxon Prior has also been named in the Lions best 22 for what will be his third game at the top level this season after also performing impressively in the VFL.
The Lions will receive a boost to their backline with in-form defender Jack Payne returning after missing one match under concussion protocols.
Dayne Zorko will be sidelined through suspension, while Keidean Coleman, Ryan Lester and James Madden all go out of the side that lost to Adelaide in Round 12.
Coleman and Lester have however been named as emergencies alongside Nakia Cockatoo and Darcy Fort.
The Brisbane Lions face off with Hawthorn at 1:45pm (AEST) on Saturday, with the match broadcast live on Fox Footy.
