This week’s Throwback Thursday features 283-game AFL champion Richard Osborne.
Osborne played 187 games for Fitzroy between 1982-1992; and in Round 18, 1989 against Melbourne, Osborne kicked his 300th career goal.
The Roys’ forward kicked 11 goals from 15 disposals as Fitzroy went on to dominate in the high scoring affair in a 23.13.151 def 15.13.103 win against the Dees.
Matt Armstrong and Brendan McCormack complimented Osborne’s huge effort with 25 disposals each, providing quality delivery inside 50.
Father of current Melbourne player Jack Viney, Todd Viney had a solid performance, with 29 disposals for the game.
Fitzroy also saw Paul Roos (current Melbourne Demons coach) kick four goals.
