Preliminary Final has us PUMPED!
There’s nothing better than finals footy.
We’re back home at Brighton Homes Arena as we prepare to host Geelong in a Preliminary Final.
For the winner, a spot in the big dance. For the loser it spells seasons end.
Here’s everything you need to know before Saturday’s cat fight!
Last Time We Met
It’s been a minute since we last played Geelong. How long you ask? 666 days to be exact and this time in the highest stakes game of the season.
Our last encounter, Geelong travelled up to Maroochydore in Round 4 of Season 6 where the Lions held on to win by 2 points against a late Cat’s surge.
Excited About
Dak’s Milestone
It’s an exciting time for one of our Lionesses, with Dakota Davidson set to run out for her 50th game tomorrow!
A popular figure around the club, Daks has been pivotal up forward this year, leading the competition in contested marks and recently notching 50 career goals. She looks to be her usual energetic self up forward come Saturday night and goes head-to-head with Geelong key forward Jacqueline Parry.
Busting packs and terrorising backs in 50 games for Daks
Match-ups we’re keen for
Ally Anderson vs Georgie Prespakis
This one is set to be a biggie!
Both women have been in scintillating form this season and will go toe-to-toe in the engine room where the battle will be at its fiercest.
Anderson has averaged 25.5 disposals, 5.6 tackles, and 4.3 clearances in Season 8, leading the way for the Lions this year. Meanwhile, Prespakis has posted equally impressive figures averaging 24.5 disposals, 7.2 tackles, and 6.7 clearances.
You’ll want to grab the popcorn for this battle!
