Brisbane Lions VFL Coach, Ben Hudson, has been selected on the coaching panel for this year's Smithy’s VFL representative team.
Hudson will be an assistant coach alongside with Steve Daniel from Southport and Adam Skrobalak from Port Melbourne.
The trio will support former Lions Academy head coach and development coach, Zane Little-John who will lead the VFL rep team as coach.
The VFL side will take on the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) on Saturday, 6 April 6 at Glenelg’s Stratarama Stadium during AFL Gather Round… A Festival of Footy.
Hudson, who took the reins of the Lions VFL in 2023, said he was excited to be part of the re-introduction of the VFL and SANFL rivalry.
“I’m honoured to be part of this coaching group and I see it as a great opportunity to work with the best talent the VFL has to offer,” he said.
“With Gather Round the same weekend it will be exciting time for football in general and it will give us an opportunity to showcase the talent at a state league level.
“For myself it has been great to lead this VFL group and we’re looking forward to another strong season ahead.
“We’ve built a strong VFL program here in Brisbane so go to get the opportunity to work with other coaches from the competition will be a fantastic experience.”
The best VFL-listed players from the 21-team competition will be selected to represent the Big V, with an initial squad and leadership group to be announced soon.
