With just 15 days until the Lions host Opening Round against Carlton, the Brisbane Lions 2024 membership has surged past 42,000.
Lions Chairman, Andrew Wellington, addressing supporters at the Lions season launch, said the club was in fantastic shape off field.
“It’s great to see our supporter base continuing to grow each year. We have already signed on 42,000 members and more than 85% of our hospitality offerings for the season are sold.
“It’s not so long ago these numbers were unthinkable, to give some context – in 2004 after the historic three peat of premierships we had just over 30,000 members and that was the highest until 2021 when we reached 40,000.
“Since then, we have continued to set record levels of membership each year.
“With record membership, more than half our games sold out in 2023 and a population that continues to grow, surely no-one could doubt we can consistently fill a larger stadium were it available.”

Lions General Manager, Consumer Business, Ben Kerswill said tickets sales for Opening Round and the Easter Thursday Grand Final rematch against Collingwood were very strong.
“The demand for tickets and memberships this year is unprecedented. We’ve released a small allocation of tickets for Opening Round and the Pies game, both of which have been snapped up in record time.
“In addition to our clashes with Carlton and Collingwood the Lions will host Gabba matches against the SUNS, Geelong, Richmond and St Kilda in the first half of the year so getting yourself a Lions Membership is the best way to guarantee you will get a seat.”
