Brisbane Lions defender Conor McKenna will return from a hamstring injury through the VFL this weekend as Round 4, Smithy’s VFL action returns to Brighton Homes Arena.
McKenna will play his first game since the Lions Round 1 AFL game against Fremantle.
The dashing defender headlines three changes to the Lions’ VFL side which suffered a one-point loss in their last time out against North Melbourne.
Midfielders Jarryd Lyons and James Tunstill have both been elevated to the AFL with Ben Thomas and Rohan Bailey coming into the side.
Thomas, a Maroochydore product, will play his first game for the Lions VFL side against Geelong this weekend.
A crafty small-forward, Thomas has gathered a reputation for his ability to hit the scoreboard in the QAFL.
Bailey, younger brother of Lions midfielder Zac, will make his VFL debut for the Club after being added to the list during the week following a move to Queensland.
He previously played his footy for Norwood Under 18’s in the SANFL and the Northern Territory in the NAB League.
Fans are encouraged to get down the Brighton Homes Arena for the first bounce at 1:05pm.
