Exciting playmaker Zac Bailey will make his return from injury on Sunday against Hawthorn, while Brandon Ryan will play his first game at AFL level for the Lions against his old team.
Ryan, who played three AFL matches for the Hawks after being selected in the 2023 Mid-Season Rookie Draft, will come full circle when he runs out at Marvel Stadium.
The 200-centimetre forward arrived at the Lions’ den on the final day of last year’s Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period, which saw Jack Gunston return to the Hawks.
Now after five VFL appearances in the maroon, blue and gold the 26-year-old gets his chance at AFL level as a Lion.
Bailey will play his first game since the Club’s Round 5 win over Melbourne, with the 24-year-old overcoming an ankle sprain.
The Lions interchange is made up of Callum Ah Chee, Harry Sharp, Brandon Ryan, Bruce Reville and Noah Answerth.
The two outs for the Lions are young defender Shadeau Brain who goes back to the VFL, while key forward Eric Hipwood misses through suspension.
Henry Smith, James Tunstill, Darragh Joyce are listed as the three emergencies for the Brisbane Lions.
