LAST TIME THEY MET

The Lions hosted Carlton in their 2012 home season opener in Round 2 at the Gabba on Easter Thursday.

While the Lions started strong with six goals in the opening term and took a 2-point lead into quarter time, it was game over from that point on.

The Blues went on to kick 18 of the next 21 goals to maintain the lead, putting on a display for the Gabba crowd in the process.

Eddie Betts took two hangers over James Polkinghorne and Cheynee Stiller, while Jarrad Waite kicked five goals, and midfield duo Chris Judd and Marc Murphy amassed 33 and 30 possessions respectively.

For an outclassed Lions side, the best afield were Daniel Rich (27 disposals, one goal) and Simon Black (23 disposals, four tackles).

2012 sensation Dayne Zorko had another outstanding game in Round 19, equalling his career-best in tackles with nine.

Carlton forward Lachie Henderson played 15 matches in two seasons with the Lions from 2008-2009.
