The AFL has today confirmed the fixture for the 2024 Smithy’s VFL qualifying and elimination finals with the Brisbane Lions travelling to Mission Whitten Oval to take on Footscray on Saturday August 31. 

After qualifying in third place, the Lions will play off in the Second Qualifying Final in a return bout against second placed Footscray. 

The Lions won the last match up between these two sides in Round 11 at Mission Whitten Oval by 18 points over a then top of the table Bulldogs. 

With the first bounce from 1:05pm on Saturday 31 August, Lions fans are encouraged to get down to Mission Whitten Oval with tickets only $15. 
 
Tickets can be purchased from midday Tuesday each week of the finals series via www.intix.com.au/org/vfl.

The 2024 Smithy’s VFL Grand Final will be played at IKON Park on Sunday, September 22 unless two Queensland-based teams are competing.  

In the event of two Queensland-based teams reaching the 2024 Smithy’s VFL Grand Final, the match will be played on Sunday, September 22 in Queensland.  

The AFL is pleased to confirm that seven matches in the 2024 Smithy’s VFL Finals Series will be broadcast live and free on the Seven Network and 7plus, including the 2024 Smithy’s VFL Grand Final. 
 
All matches, including the 2024 Smithy’s VFL Grand Final, will be streamed live and free on AFL.com.au and the AFL Live Official App.
