The Brisbane Lions have confirmed two changes for Thursday night’s Easter clash with Collingwood at a sold-out Gabba.
Earlier today the club announced 19-year-old Sunshine Coast local Sam Marshall would make his debut in the annual Easter match against the Pies.
Marshall, selected as a hybrid midfielder with Pick 25 at the 2024 Telstra AFL Draft, is yet another graduate of the Youi Brisbane Lions Academy.
Emerging forward Will McLachlan, who started as the sub last week, makes way for Marshall and will return to the VFL.
The Lions were also forced to make a second change with utility Bruce Reville sidelined with a hamstring strain following training on Tuesday.
Reville won’t play against Collingwood and will be further assessed in the coming days.
Coach Chris Fagan and the match committee have opted to bring in James Tunstill and reward the Western Australian-born midfielder with another opportunity at AFL level.
Tunstill and Marshall are both named on the interchange with Logan Morris as well as Will and Levi Ashcroft.
The Lions three emergencies are Deven Robertson, Darcy Gardiner and Darcy Fort.
With Thursday’s Easter blockbuster at the Gabba confirmed as a sell-out, the best place to watch all the action is live on Seven, Fox Footy and Kayo from 7:30pm.
