The Brisbane Lions have landed one of their prime trade targets by securing Carlton midfielder Tom Bell.
The Lions have parted with picks 21 and 60 for pick 41 and Bell, an inside midfielder with 51 games experience.
Bell, a Morningside product, flagged in mid-August his intention to return to his home state of Queensland.
List Manager, Peter Schwab said he was pleased to get the deal done which will see Bell signed for three years.
“We are delighted to get Tom and to bring him back home to Queensland,” said Schwab.
“He had an excellent year in 2015 finishing 4th in the Carlton best and fairest and he’ll add plenty to our footy Club.
“He’s got experience, he’s just starting to hit his peak years and he is a very strong and hard-running player.”
The 24 year-old, 187cm, 98kg midfielder played 22 games in 2015.
The signing coincides with the Lions’ 2016 Membership Launch – on sale now.
