SKILLS COACH Ben Hudson says the Lions’ win over top eight side the Western Bulldogs has brought some confidence to the group ahead of 2016.
“It was a terrific win from the boys”, Hudson said.
“It just shows that with our best footy we’re capable of beating a top eight side.
“Obviously it was a disappointing year, but a great way to finish and hopefully it will lead into a good pre-season.”
The Bulldogs kicked eight goals to the Lions’ two majors in the opening term.
But Brisbane would not be deterred, kicking six goals in the second quarter to set-up an eight point victory.
“The message was simple (at quarter time), we had as many shots on goal.
“I think credit to the Dogs they kicked eight straight in the first quarter but we were able to dig deep and bounce right back”, Hudson said.
“That second quarter we certainly dominated in every statistic of the game, we were able to bridge the gap and finish on top and get an exciting win for the fans.”
