Oscar McInerney will face the Saints this weekend, with the ruckman recalled to the senior team by Senior Coach Chris Fagan.
McInerney is one of three changes to the team, with Allen Christensen and Ryan Lester also elevated from the undefeated NEAFL side.
“The Big O” missed the team’s Round 9 victory over Hawthorn, as he was being managed. The following week he made his return via the NEAFL and dominated in their Round 10 victory over the Gold Coast, with 19 disposals and seven tackles.
Christensen’s last game for the Lions senior side was Round 5’s loss to Collingwood. The 28-year-old has responded well in the NEAFL, producing consistent performances and leading the younger men in the side. In his last game before the bye, he had 33 touches and six tackles.
Round 10’s loss to Fremantle was Lester’s last time in the senior side. During that game he suffered a minor quad strain, which ruled him out the following week. He also made his return to the NEAFL and like Christensen had 33 disposals in their Round 10 victory over the SUNS.
Lewis Taylor was not named after rolling his ankle. He is expected to return next week. Archie Smith and Nick Robertson were omitted from the side.
Senior Coach Chris Fagan said the team’s attitude to training this week after the bye has been exemplary.
“Training has been excellent. I think our blokes have been up and going for a while,” he said.
“I feel like our guys have freshened up and trained really well this week and looking forward to the challenge against St Kilda.”
The team travel to Melbourne tomorrow.
