The predictions ahead of tonight’s 2013 AFL National Draft seem to have taken another turn, with afl.com.au’s Callum Twomey revising his original Phantom Draft from Wednesday morning.

Twomey originally believed the Brisbane Lions would pull the trigger on defender Matthew Scharenberg with their first round pick (Pick No.7), but now has the Club securing fellow South Australian James Aish.

“Collingwood is thought likely to toss-up between Aish and Matt Scharenberg if both remain, with the Brisbane Lions likely to grab whichever of the pair who gets through,” Twomey says.

Aish, a quality midfielder who has already experienced senior football in the SANFL, was also linked to the Lions but The Age draft expert, Emma Quayle.

But the continued speculation does not mean that anything is locked in.

In fact, the Lions themselves won’t know exactly who they’ll be drafting until the first six selections fall at the Draft.

And with the constant unpredictability of what might unfold tonight, it wouldn’t be out of the question for the landscape change again before 6pm this evening.
