The Roar Deal podcast had an abundance of riches this week as both Jarryd Lyons and Leigh Matthews joined us in studio.
Lyons jumped into the hot seat first as he looked back at his transition from Metricon to the Gabba and playing to his strengths in the new look midfield at the Lions.
‘Fages is tapping into my experience coming from a couple of different clubs, different systems, how things work," Lyons told Dom and Mike.
"Been awesome so far."
When questioned on his impressions of the young Lions outfit during pre-season and the opening rounds of 2019, Lyons had nothing but praise for his teammates.
"It’s such a young group, but there’s still a lot of experience there as well," he said.
"We were going all different places in the pre-season and there was no complaining.
"It’s a really professional group and probably more mature than what the numbers of age suggest."
Leigh Matthews (34.46) joined later on to talk the start of the season and Hall of Fame night.
When asked why Lions fans would find the Hall of Fame night special and worth making a weekend of, Matthews had this to say.
“It’s recognition of historical issues, the Hall of Fame is clearly about the history of the football club,” he said.
“If it's one thing, it’s that. The history of the club gets celebrated at Hall of Fame nights.”
