The man at the centre of the most infamous QClash incident says he's fired up to beat his Gold Coast opponents in Sunday's match at the Gabba.
Two years ago Brisbane ruckman Stefan Martin was laid out by a crude Steven May bump that resulted in the now Suns skipper copping a five-match suspension.
Although Martin says he has totally forgiven May, the in-form 31-year-old admitted there was extra spice in taking on the Suns.
"It's a pretty genuine rivalry," Martin said.
"We're so process driven, so
"Steven apologised at the time and I have no hard feelings towards him, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to try and rip their heads off when we play them.
"That doesn't change from week-to-week depending on the opponent."
The Lions lead the head-to-head match-up by nine games to five, including winning twice in 2017.
Following Saturday's 93-point drubbing from premier Richmond, the Lions took the unusual step of not reviewing the game as a team.
"We're trying to move on to this week," Martin said.
"We viewed the weekend's performance against Richmond as an aberration.
"We're pretty confident that the first three weeks is what we're about and we're going to get back to that against the Suns."
Martin said he thought there were some positives to take from the Tigers match, particularly the clearances (28-25) and contested ball (135-147), but the ruckman felt they didn't run hard enough between contests.
