LAST TIME THEY MET
The Lions had beaten Adelaide by 40 points in Round 10, and were eager to continue their winning form against the Crows in Mark Bickley’s second game as the Crows’ caretaker coach in Round 20 at the Gabba.
It was a sometimes scrappy encounter, but the Lions led for most of the game, and midway through the fourth quarter were carrying a 22-point buffer.
However, the home team unravelled and the Crows kicked the final four goals of the match, running out 5-point winners.
Tom Rockliff (34 disposals) and Simon Black (26 disposals, seven clearances) were the best on ground for the Lions, while Joel Patfull became one of the fastest ever players to be substituted, coming off the ground after just ten minutes with a wrist injury.
Brownlow votes: 3. S. Thompson (Adel) 2. Tom Rockliff (BL) 1. Simon Black (BL)
