Brisbane Lions defender Harris Andrews has been given the all-clear by medical professionals to resume playing next week.
Andrews was concussed by Giant Jeremy Cameron in Round 14 and suffered a small bleed on his brain that has kept him out since.
Lions Coach Chris Fagan confirmed on Friday morning that his vice-captain was close to a return.
"He was given the all-clear this morning, so he can now start doing some
"He was a bit sick and sorry the first week or two, but he's made steady improvements since that point in time.
"You can see in his mood and his level of optimism and energy he's back to his normal self."

Josh Walker has filled in for Andrews at full-back in the past three weeks – all Brisbane victories – and done an exceptional job.
Fagan said it would be a pleasant selection headache next week.
"It'll be an interesting selection conundrum," he said.
"I'm trusting Josh is going to play well again tomorrow (against Adelaide) and look forward to him playing a good strong game again."
