The 2018 NEAFL season will kick off this weekend in Darwin when the Lions take on NT Thunder at TIO Stadium.
After an outstanding 2017 campaign as NEAFL premiers, the Lions side will be looking to back their efforts up again in 2018.
During the pre-season, the side came away with a 2-1 wins tally, defeating Aspley and Wilston Grange convincingly but falling short against Gold Coast last weekend.
ROOKIE WATCH
After making a handful of appearances for both Brisbane and Redland in 2017, medium sized forward Ben Sloan has committed to the Lions in 2018 in an effort to boost his draft stock
With nine NEAFL games across the past two seasons under his belt, Sloan has averaged just over one goal per game, although, given his age, has been on the fringes of his respective teams. In 2018, he has the chance to solidify a place in the team once and for all and is poised to develop into one of the most dangerous young forwards in the league.
