Injury News
There were no new injuries to report following the weekend's AFL and NEAFL matches.
Unfortunately, Matt Eagles will miss the rest of the 2018 AFL season due to an ongoing abdominal/groin injury, which will require surgery.
Eagles first inflamed this area in the Lions’ Round 10 loss to the Sydney Swans at the Gabba. Lions’ medical staff exhausted every non-surgical option of rehabilitation, but Eagles continued to feel soreness.
“After further rehabilitation and medical assessment, we have had to consider surgical options,” General Manager of Football David Noble said.
“We are all disappointed Matty will miss the remainder of the year.”
Eagles will go into surgery on Monday.
Harris Andrews has been cleared to start training with the group after passing concussion protocols. He won't be named to play against Hawthorn this week.
