Brisbane Lions Head of Medical Peter Blanch says the week’s rest for young stars Eric Hipwood, Jarrod Berry and Hugh McCluggage has done them the world of good.
“It’s very important for those young guys. They don't have fully mature football bodies yet. They’ve done extremely well to play in as many games as they’ve had,” Blanch said.
All three will be eligible to return for Saturday's clash with the Western Bulldogs.
LIONS HEALTH CENTRE: INJURY LIST
Meanwhile, Sam Mayes is in doubt after injuring his foot in Sunday’s loss to West Coast.
“He got through the game but we’re not sure how that one is going to go yet.”
Captain Dayne Beams’ troublesome shoulder also suffered a knock, but he should ok in time for Saturday’s game.
In positive news, defender Dan McStay has overcome his own shoulder injury and will be ready to suit up this weekend.
In the NEAFL, players returned home from Canberra with no major injuries.
