The team arrived in Launceston late last night and had their first session at the UTAS Stadium earlier today.
“It’s a great stadium, it’s a great oval. It’s a different environment. It’s a lot cooler,” Austin said.
“We train in the heat constantly through our pre-season. Other AFL teams go to the Sunshine Coast to get to the heat. We want to go vice-versa and get in the cooler weather. The boys come and can train a lot harder by getting out of the humidity.”
The eight-day camp will be the Club’s final week of training for 2017, and they plan to go out with a bang.
“Before we go away on break we want to have a solid few sessions and make sure we’re playing a few games and game simulations and so forth,” he said.
“It will be a tough week for them.”

He hopes at the conclusion of this camp, the group feels positive heading into the new season.
“I think the mindset that they’re really progressing, and they’re really advanced in their game plan.”
