The Brisbane Lions took on the Collingwood Magpies at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.
The Lions midfield fought hard against the Magpies' star-studded core, with Dayne Beams and Dayne Zorko again leading from the front. Beams gathered 28 disposals and kicked three goals, while Zorko also collected 28 touches and kicked the first two goals of the game.
Jake Barrett continued his recent strong form by picking up 18 possessions and laying on an equal team-high seven tackles.
Senior Coach Chris Fagan was impressed by young Lion Hugh McCluggage who won a season-high 19 disposals, and also with Eric Hipwood who kicked a stunning goal from just on the 50m arc and took a couple of strong marks.
