After a couple of weeks of smooth sailing on the injury front, the Brisbane Lions were hit by two injuries on the weekend.
Dayne Beams (shoulder) is facing up to a month on the sidelines, while Tom Bell (ankle) is out for at least six weeks and possibly the season.
"Dayne Beams hurt his shoulder in the first couple of minutes of the game,” Head of Medical Peter Blanch said.
“He has a grade three sprain of his chromeo clavicular joint that is going to keep him out for 2-4 weeks.
Lions Health Centre: Injury List
"Tom Bell unfortunately had a major incident in the NEAFL game. He has a fracture and dislocation of his ankle.
"He will get that operated on in the next couple of days and will be out for at least six weeks, but it may be the season."
Ryan Harwood (foot) is also out for the next few weeks after splitting his foot open in a training mishap.
"We had a little bit of a mishap in training last week, Ryan Harwood split his foot open and he is going to be out for another two or three weeks."
Blanch confirmed the Lions had no further injuries following Saturday’s AFL and NEAFL matches.
