This week we’re throwing back to the Brisbane Lions thumping victory over the Richmond Tigers in the 2001 Preliminary Final.
In front of 37,000 raucous fans at the Gabba, the Lions made a strong start to the match and jumped out to a two-goal lead at quarter time.
Six goals in the second quarter blew the margin out to 38 points at half time, and the Lions never stopped pushing, eventually finishing 20.16 (136) to 10.8 (68) victors.
Jonathan Brown bagged four goals while Michael Voss and Nigel Lappin kicked three majors each.
Chris Scott and Nigel Lappin both collected 29 disposals.
