The Brisbane Lions have selected Maria Moloney from the University of Queensland with Pick No. 75 at today’s AFLW Draft in Melbourne.
Moloney is an inside midfielder who is clean with her possession and is effective with her hands and feet.
The 24-year-old played three games for the Lions in their undefeated QW Winter Series campaign against the Gold Coast.
Coach Craig Starcevich said Moloney, who works for the Air Force, would be a great asset to the team.
“She is a great contested ball winner and has impressive aerobic capacity,” he said.
