The Lions could be set to regain Dayne Beams and Josh Green, with the duo eyeing off a possible round one return.
Green was dealt a blow in early January when it was revealed he was expected to miss 10 weeks with a fractured foot – the same foot that cost the 23-year-old six matches last season with a stress fracture.
“Greeny is perfectly on track,” Lions Head of Physiotherapy Shane Lemcke told LionsTV.
While he recovers Green has been on a modified training program that has included Pilates in order to maintain core strength.
“He is going as expected and should be on track for round one. He’s back running and will start training soon.”
Lemcke said an injury to Beams’ shoulder that required surgery and ended his 2015 season had been slow but he was on track.
“Dayne’s progressing well through his rehab, he’s on track for round one as well,” Lemcke said.
Claye Beams, Daniel McStay, Darcy Gardiner and Trent West are all expected to be available for NAB 2 in Mackay on March 6.
