The AFL Players' Association have today announced Tom Rockliff, Dayne Zorko and Mitch Robinson as the club's MVP nominees for the 'Leigh Matthews Trophy' for 2016.
Nomination for the MVP Award is a two-stage procdess with players all nominating three teammates for the award, before three nominees from every club are presented to the wider playing group for a vote to decide the winner. Players cannot vote for their own teammates in stage two of the process.
A similar process is followed for the 'Best First Year' player and 'Most Courageous', however one player is nominated from each club.
MVP NOMINEES: Zorko, Rockliff, Robinson
BEST FIRST YEAR NOMINEE: Josh Schache
MOST COURAGEOUS NOMINEE: Mitch Robinson
Captain Tom Rockliff has also been automatically nominated for the Best Captain Award presented by L’Oreal Men Expert.
The winners or each category will be announced at the AFL Players’ MVP Awards on Tuesday 13th September at Peninsula in Docklands.
