Mitch Robinson will undergo further testing to assess his availability to play against the Gold Coast SUNS in QClash 12 next Saturday.
The midfielder was left concussed after colliding into Richmond’s Jacob Townsend in the second term of Saturday’s 42-point loss to the Tigers.
The 27-year-old passed an initial concussion test but emerged from the rooms at half-time in a tracksuit top and did not return to the field.
“He wasn’t feeling too bad after the game, but still had some mild concussion symptoms on Sunday,” said Brisbane Lions Head of Physiotherapy Shane Lemcke.
“He is under the care of the team doctors, and will go through our concussion protocol. Given we have a week off, we are confident he should be ready for Round 16.”
Lions Health Centre: Injury List
The Lions should be steadied by the return of running defender Tom Cutler to face the SUNS.
Cutler had minor hamstring damage, sustained in the Lions’ loss to the West Coast Eagles in Round 13.
The 21-year-old will return to the main training group on Thursday.
In other injury news, Lions Medical Staff will assess Rookie Reuben William’s wrist. The 18-year-old defender suffered the injury in the Reserves’ match in Darwin on the weekend.
Lemcke also revealed that Cian Hanley won’t be available this season as he deals with a long-term groin issue.
The Lions committed to Cian, the younger brother of Pearce, as an International Rookie in 2014, not long before he suffered an ACL injury in the All-Ireland minor semi-final where he captained County Mayo.
Hanley spent much 2015 recovering from his ACL, before a decision was made by Lions medical staff that the 19-year old would require groin surgery.
