The first 50 games of a players career is often described as their AFL apprenticeship.

From then on they’re no longer protected by the barrier of youth and are expected to deliver on a consistent basis.

Fox Sports Adam Baldwin has narrowed down his top rising stars of the AFL with the Lions’ own Lewy Taylor featuring.

LEWIS TAYLOR

Games: 44

Age: 20

Drafted: 2013 national draft, pick No. 28

“…It’s hard to argue with Taylor’s first two seasons in the big time. He claimed the AFL Rising Star award in 2014 and had a better campaign statistically last season. The Lions are a developing side, but they’ve already got a very good midfield. Taylor’s ability to see the game unfold and use the ball effectively to put teammates into space will become more obvious in 2016.”

Lewis Taylor hasn't missed a game in his first two years at the Brisbane Lions and after being an AFL Rising Star, he hasn't missed a beat. In his second Season he averaged 20.9 disposals, and in 2016 he'll look to take his game to the next level.
