Peter Schwab has stood down as Brisbane Lions Talent Acquisition Manager to take up a position with the AFL.
Schwab, who has been with the Lions for three years, has accepted the role as the AFL's National Umpiring Director.
Schwab said: "I want to pass on my appreciation to everyone I have had the pleasure of working with in my past three years at the Brisbane Lions.
"I have been grateful for the opportunities and support I have received on a professional and personal level.
"The responsibility to help build the current Brisbane Lions List has been both challenging and exciting and I will watch with great interest the development of the team and Club in the coming years, and look forward to the seeing the Lions once again being a successful team in the AFL."
Brisbane Lions CEO Greg Swann said the Club wished Schwab all the best after three years of strong service.
"Peter has overseen some really strong years of trade and draft, with a wealth of talent joining our Club during his tenure," said Swann.
"He is much-loved across the Club for his approach to work and life, as well as his experience, calmness and sense of humour during some testing times in recent years.
"We wish him all the best in the future as he moves on to an important position with the AFL."
Swann said the Lions had begun a process to find a replacement, with no set timeframe on that process.
