Brisbane are set to regain Captain Tom Rockliff (hamstring); along with Allen Christensen (finger) and Josh Green (foot), with the trio eyeing off a Round 1 return.
The Lions will fly to Perth on Saturday ahead of their clash with the West Coast Eagles on Sunday afternoon.
“They will all train fully tomorrow and provided they get through that they’ll be available for selection this week,” Lions Head of Physiotherapy Shane Lemcke told LionsTV.
Rockliff bypassed the annual Captains' Day in Melbourne last week to resume training after tweaking his hamstring.
While Christensen missed the NAB Challenge series after surgery on his finger and Green – the club's leading goal kicker for the past two seasons – has missed the past two months with a fractured foot.
If selected, the trio will add extra experience to the Lions’ line-up.
Meanwhile Vice-Captain Dayne Beams should begin running next week as he continues his rehabilitation. Beams is managing ‘knee tendinitis’.
“Dayne’s progressed really well the past couple of weeks. His strength has really come along. We’re looking to start him running next week.”
Lemcke said Rhys Mathieson and Jaden McGrath are both on track in their recovery.
“Jaden injured his sternoclavicular joint in the game against the Giants. It’s settled down well. He doesn’t have any structural damage but he’ll still be a couple of weeks away at this stage.
“Rhys underwent his surgery on his facial fracture about a week ago. It all went well, he had a couple of plates inserted.
“He’s getting reviewed by his surgeon tomorrow and we anticipate he’ll be out for about six weeks.”
Michael Close avoided any serious damage playing for the Reserves against Redland.
“He landed a little awkwardly on his left knee,” Lemcke said.
“We had that scanned and it’s been checked by his surgeon – he avoided any damage.
“He’ll train tomorrow and provided he gets through that he should be available for the weekend as well.”
