Jordan Membrey and Kate Deegan will make their debut for the Brisbane Lions Women's team on Saturday in the Lions' clash with GWS at South Pine Sports Complex.

21-year-old Membrey provides a new option in the Lions' forward line. Membrey is equally hard at the contest in the air and at ground level. Her explosiveness will also challenge opposition defenders if the ball turns over in the Lions' forward 50.

Deegan will replace injured defender Tahlia Randall. A rookie, Deegan was recruited to the Lions with a soccer background, having played for Annerley in the Brisbane Women’s Premier League and has played for Coorparoo in the QWAFL.

Brisbane Lions Women’s Coach Craig Starcevich spotted Deegan at a Coorparoo training night and began the process of recruiting the defender.

Match Day Information

She can win her own ball particularly at ground level, knowing when to spread from back half and go and when to stay. She will provide great rebound run when required.

Tahlia Randall (shoulder) and Shaelise Law (omitted) will miss the match against the GIANTS, who after three round are yet to win a game.
