The Brisbane Lions today officially lodged the paperwork to welcome former Carlton midfielder, Mitch Robinson to the Club, as a delisted free-agent.
Robinson played 100 games for Carlton, including 12 in 2014. Taken with pick 40 in the 2008 national draft, he finished seventh in Carlton’s 2011 best-and-fairest and ninth in 2012.
The 25-year-old will join the Club on a two-year deal, seeing him remain a Lion until at least the end of the 2016 season.
Originally from Tasmania, Robinson will join Dayne Beams and Allen Christensen as players finding a new home at the Lions in 2015.
Lions Talent Acquisition and Retention Manager, Peter Schwab, said Robinson would bring a hard-edge to the Lions midfield.
“Mitch is one of the guys who always attacks the footy 100%,” Schwab said.
“He’s super competitive and consistently puts his head over the footy.
“Mitch brings a real aggression to our midfield and we are confident that if he can harness that aggression and get a good pre-season under his belt, he can have an impact on our side.”
