LAST TIME THEY MET
The Lions travelled south to Tasmania and were greeted with howling winds at Aurora Stadium for their Round 16 clash against the Hawks.

The home team jumped out to a 24-point lead at the first break, before three goals in three minutes from Jonathan Brown (2) and Luke Power (1) lifted the Lions to just a 13-point deficit at half time.

The brave Lions refused to lie down in the third quarter and matched it with the classy Hawks in tough conditions, before failing to take momentum into the final term, where Hawthorn piled on six goals to one, running out 42-point victors.

Lance Franklin, David Hale and Brendan Whitecross kicked three goals each for the Hawks, while Jack Redden (32 disposals, seven tackles) and Simon Black (30 disposals, seven tackles) were best on ground for the visitors.

Brownlow Medal Votes: 3 - S. Mitchell (Haw), 2 - J. Gibson (Haw), 1 - S. Black (BL)
