Club Champion Runner-Up Daniel Rich believes the impact a vocal Gabba crowd can have on an outcome should never be underestimated.

In another revealing interview with LIONS TV, Rich opened up about the critical role that supporters play from the stands.

“Out at the Gabba, at our fortress, it’s unbelievable to hear the crowd roar,” Rich said.

“It’s almost like we’ve got an extra player on the field to be honest.”

“I know the boys talk about it a lot.”

Rich, who is fresh from his finest AFL season to date, also told LIONS TV that the fear of potentially disappointing his teammates helps drive him to constantly improve.

“I fear most what my teammates think of me, because they are the people that I respect the most,” Rich revealed.

“To let them down is terrible for me, and it does get to you inside a little bit.”

Now a leader among the playing group at just 22 year of age, Rich feels added responsibility when it comes to promoting the Club’s culture among his younger teammates.

“The history of the Club, the pride of the Club – that’s what it’s all about here at the Lions. And that’s what we’re going to encourage all the young guys coming in (to continue).”

“It’s crucial to be a role model and do the right thing.”
