Assistant Coach Gary O’Donnell says the Lions must keep in check Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe on Sunday at Domain Stadium in Perth.
Brisbane will travel to Perth tomorrow and O’Donnell says the trip West will aid his players in their development and game experience against the top of the table Dockers.
Match Preview: Lions V Fremantle
“Fremantle, their pressure is probably the best in the competition, them and Sydney, they’re terrific at contested ball and the pressure they put on the opposition.
“We’ve got to match that as best we can and hopefully get it going our way.
“Fyfe is integral in their makeup but they’ve also got Neale and Mundy, all those blokes around the ball”, O’Donnell said.
“Hill’s got some good ball carry, then they’ve got some dangerous forwards, Pav (Matthew Pavlich), he’s a great player and a legend of the game. Also Ballantyne, Pearce and Walters who are fleet footed that are going to be hard to catch up with.”
“We’ll continue to try to develop as a footy team, our young players being able to improve every week.
“Contested ball is a big one for us. Our ability to retain, keep, don’t cough the ball up is just a working progress for us and that’s what we’ll be concentrating on this week again.”
