With a mounting injury list, the door of opportunity was opened to Brisbane’s first year players and Rookies early in 2015, and Senior Coach Justin Leppitsch says he has been impressed with the calibre on display.

“We’ve obviously been able to blood some more talent, that’s what injuries do unfortunately, they give opportunity for youth and we’ve seen some terrific young kids.

“Hugh Beasley and Bourkey (Jordon Bourke) again on the weekend and seeing a bit more of Tommy Cutler, has been fantastic. Also, Sparra, little Jaden McGrath has been good as well.”

Leppitsch has identified key areas of improvement for the second half of the year, with an emphasis on contested football.

“Some of our contested footy stuff, it’s probably prevalent with such a young team. Definitely the book-ends of our ground, as well, just making sure we cannot give away easy goals just through some contested work.

“There are some things you can fix now and some things that will take time and some hours in the gym that we’ll get better at every year," Leppitsch said.
