Reflecting on the team’s win against Carlton at The Gabba on Saturday, Assistant Coach Murray Davis said it was a good to see aspects of the game, the Lions have been working on, come to fruition.

“The way we’ve been able to transition the ball, we’ve been able to kick over 100 points two weeks in a row now.

“I thought we defended really well in our turnover as well.

“They are some of the aspects we’ve been working on and they came to fruition on Saturday night.”

Davis said it was pleasing to see the team’s younger brigade as well as experienced midfielder, Mitch Robinson, leading the charge.

“There were a lot of guys who played their role.

“I thought Mitch Robinson was one in that his intent was great across all four quarters.

“We saw Jono Freeman do some nice things up forward”, Davis said.

“Tom Cutler coming into the team for his first game (since Round 13) gave us some run off half back along with Sam Mayes and Dan McStay as well.”

The Lions will travel to Adelaide to take on the Crows on Saturday night.
