Last Week’s Events

Dayne Zorko led a host of six Lion’s who managed to crack the ton, despite a tough loss to the Dees with 124. Allen Christensen returned to form with 29 possessions and 117, while skipper Tom Rockliff laid an impressive 17 tackles on his way to 111. Unfortunately the injury curse continued with Pearce Hanley and Dayne Beams both succumbing to injury on 31 and 77 respectively.

On The Radar

Stefan Martin (RUC, $579,000) had a very quiet first half upon return from his suspension, but found his feet quickly in the second half to remind us why he is one of the top three ruckmen in the competition. He finished the game on 90 which give him a break-even of 112 leading into a tough match-up with Todd Goldstein this week. Keep a close eye on the big man because his price has dropped $56K since the start of the year so he is well under-priced.

What’s Coming Up?

Last time the Lion’s met the Roos was in round two and Jack Redden was the only player to reach triple figures from the under-manned Lions with 103. Expect that to change this week at the GABBA, led by Tom Rockliff who missed the encounter earlier this season.
