Two Brisbane Lions have been named in afl.com.au’s Team Of The Week after the team’s fighting loss to Fremantle in Perth.
Matthew Leuenberger was named in the ruck after a huge after a massive performance against Aaron Sandilands including 51 hitouts, 2 goals and 9 tackles.
Midfield ace Dayne Beams - a standout for the Club in 2015 - was rewarded for yet another huge game including 30 possessions and 11 tackles with a spot on the interchange bench.

MATTHEW LEUENBERGER - The Lions' big man relished the opportunity to play as the No.1 ruckman, almost matching Aaron Sandilands for hit-outs (51-53) but enjoying a bigger impact around the ground with two goals.
DAYNE BEAMS - The star midfielder was a big reason why the Lions pushed Fremantle so close, linking with Leuenberger well to finish with 10 clearances. Had an equal game-high 30 possessions and 11 tackles.
It’s the second week in a row that the Brisbane Lions featured two players in the Team Of The Week, after Stefan Martin and Mitch Robinson were named after their standout efforts in the Round 13 fighting loss to Adelaide at the Gabba.
Stefan Martin was named in the ruck after coming out on top in his duel with Sam Jacobs, while Mitch Robinson was picked on the interchange bench after playing through the midfield in one of his best games for his new Club.
