Nearly 70 promising young female athletes strapped on their boots for the Brisbane Lions' AFLW talent and rookie search held last weekend.
"It was a fantastic day. We had about 12 interstate players and three internationals," Lions AFLW CEO Bree Brock said.
"It was a great mix of abilities and locations from where they came from.
"The biggest thing we came away with was with development and exposure to a high-level program there's plenty of girls who could potentially put their hat into the ring and become AFLW players."
Brock thanked all the participants for taking part in the trial.
"Our message to the girls on the day that participated was to keep pushing themselves and try and take their game to the next level."
If the Lions do decide to recruit an other-sport rookie for the 2019 season, they have until September 28 to do so. U21 rookies can be selected in the AFLW Draft on October 23.
