Patience had become a critical part of Sam Skinner’s game.
Skinner returned to the field from a second ACL injury in the Lions’ win over Aspley in the NEAFL on Saturday.
It was Skinner’s first outing since July last year, and the 19-year-old received a warm cheer as he gathered his first touch.
The match marked almost 10 months since he tore his left anterior cruciate ligament, requiring a full knee reconstruction.

Brisbane Lions Head of Medical Peter Blanch said Skinner’s return went to plan:
“He went really well,” said Blanch.
“We had him on a bit of a limited load, he’ll be on a limited load over the next couple of weeks before he gets back into full playing.”
Vice-Captain Tom Rockliff (shoulder), Claye Beams (hamstring), Josh Clayton (ankle) are all on track to return after the bye.
