Tahlia Hickie will make her AFLW debut for the Lions in their Semi Final against Carlton this Sunday afternoon at Ikon Park.
Hickie has been in strong form in the QAFLW competition for Coorparoo in recent weeks. The former Hyundai Help for Kids Lions Academy product replaces Dakota Davidson who will miss the game due to a corked thigh.
The 18-year-old stands at 182cm and is fast and agile for her size. Hickie is versatile across the ground and won a QAFLW premiership with the Kings last season.
“She’s earned the spot first and foremost as she has been playing well for Coorparoo in the local league,” Starcevich said.
“Her athleticism and versatility make her a strong option to bring into our team for such an important game.”
Greta Bodey makes her return after missing last week’s match against Collingwood due to a hand injury.
“Greta is influential to our forward half setup, so she is a great addition ahead of this Semi Final,” Starcevich said.
“She had a week off to rest her arm and now she’s right to go.”
Ruck Jessy Keeffe has overcome an ankle injury to be fit in time for the Semi Final clash. She passed a fitness test earlier this morning.
