JONATHAN FREEMAN has told lions.com.au he is expecting to make his return to competitive football in the NEAFL in just over a month.
Freeman had back surgery in February and has begun running on the Alter-G Treadmill in recent weeks.
“Rehab is going really well, I haven’t had any set backs or dramas.
“My back’s all sweet now, it’s just about getting the k’s in the legs and getting up to game fitness”, he said.
“I’m scheduled to play round seven in the NEAFL. Then it’s just a matter of playing some good footy before I am able to get selected in the seniors.”
Freeman re-signed with the Lions a fortnight ago for a further two seasons.
“I’ve loved my time here over the past year, so I’m looking forward to having an extra two years after this year and see where the future takes us.”
