Burton joins Laws committee
The Brisbane Lions today welcomed the appointment of Brett Burton to the AFL’s Laws of the Game Committee.
Burton, who played 177 games for the Adelaide Crows from 1999-2010 and held active roles in the AFL Players Association from 2000-2010, joined the Lions at the end of the 2010 season to spearhead the Lions’ Physical Performance department.
Burton said that he was looking forward to contributing to the committee.
“I’ve always enjoyed being involved in the AFL in a broader scope and I believe it’s a great honour to have that opportunity,” Burton said.
“I’m looking forward to adding a sports science perspective and joining some great footy people on the Laws committee, and hopefully contributing in a positive way.”
Burton’s strong involvement with the game for more than ten years will see him bring his experience and insight to the committee which comprises respected names Adrian Anderson (Chairman), Kevin Bartlett, Joel Bowden, Leigh Matthews, Luke Power, Rowan Sawers and Michael Sexton.
